Food, anything that nourishes develops or sustains right? Yes, at Trinity it is either Coates or Maybe. Even though it is a little hard to adjust to it, especially if you are used to really spicy food like me, food at Trinity is a fact that I would like to share with you. The lines differ from Tacos to Mac and Cheese to Sushi and every day there is always something new to try out.
My personal favorites are the Coates - pizza and the Maybe - Mac and Cheese. These are awesome.
If you are fan of smoothies or burgers, Coates is the place for you. They have every thing you want, just name it.
And I am not going to lie; even with all these options there will be times where you will still miss home cooked food. So here are a few suggestions you can try out off campus. India oven, Taco Bells , Chillies are just a few to name.. I won’t promise you that these will be exactly the same as home cooked mom's food but I am quite sure they can be a good substitute. Food in San Antonio has a Mexican flavor in them, so don’t worry, you will get a bite from both the cultures.
You have so many options, no matter where you come from, you will find some type of food to suit your eating habits and when you find it, don t let it go! After all who cares about the freshmen – 15 right?

I was impressed with the amount of resources the University possesses, no matter in what ever form they come from. The University has one of the best libraries in the West, many computer labs operating 24 hours, 7 days of the week, a soccer ground, a well equipped gymnasium....etc.Of course we must not forget Human Resources, who work so ambitiously and happily every day.The working environment at Trinity is amazing. I have posted some of my favorite places at Trinity in this blog.(Coates library, meditation garden, Beze lab)

I have to admit that, coming from a small island, the above places seem like a fantasy! But now that is a reality, I might as well enjoy it!

Other than the aforementioned places in TU(Trinity University), there are so many different types of spots you can find to relax and to enjoy the scenery. One of my favorites is the "Water Fountain".My friends and I swam in the fountain at 12 o'clock at night , not so long ago.IT WAS AMAZING !(although the water smelled pretty bad! )

Another spot is the TU tower. All freshman had to climb it during the orientation week.It was one of the scariest moments in my life, as I am terrified of heights.See what I am talking about ???
Even though it is a small campus, there are so many things to do and places to go to.You just need to find time in your schedule to squeeze these in!

From the 3rd world to the most powerful world - Living in the United States of America.

It has been almost 5 weeks since I came to the US. But nothing much really has changed from my last visit here 8 years ago, other than the huge collapse in the economy. People seem to be nicer than ever and there seem to be more and more vehicles passing by every day.

First time in Texas and at Trinity, the world suddenly appears so much bigger to me. Even though the past few weeks have simply been a cycle of studying, reading and playing Tennis, I would like to point out a few differences, similarities, changes and facts that have impressed and inspired me during my stay here at Trinity.

Firstly, even though home feels 2 days away, the loneliness and the hunger for home cooked spicy food disappears instantly when I am with my friends from all over the country (mainly from Houston though!) and from all over the world. I have never been with such a diverse group of people. Even though our values and beliefs are considerably different, one thing that we shared equally was that, all of them were not against war but they were FOR peace!!

This concept is relatively new to me as my country has gone through a period of civil war for over 3 decades and because every man - woman, and child is FOR WAR.However, the more I come to think about peace, the more I believe it and the more I like it.The word itself brings peace to your mind.None of this would have been possible if it were not for my family and of course,Trinity. It is a great pleasure to be with these wonderful people with different backgrounds and with different stories to share.
